You can feel secure knowing that I will keep your transcripts 100 per cent confidential and any recordings will be deleted from my system once you have received the completed transcripts.

How do I send audio recordings?

13106038_10157049809245727_1144914309_oMost email accounts have limits on the size of attachments, so I do not recommend attempting to send audio via email. Instead, audio recordings can be sent via a file-sharing system such as Dropbox. If you do not have an account, please go to dropbox.com for simple instructions. I will then send you a link to a private folder into which you can upload the audio and I will upload the completed transcripts. Through Dropbox, you can securely access files and folders any time from the desktop, web and mobile applications. Alternatively, you can give me or post me the files on a USB stick.

How do I get an accurate transcript?

13091878_10157049781355727_2072260504_oAccuracy is paramount and every effort is made to ensure a quality transcript so that you can make full use of the document. Clear and audible recordings with minimal background noise are appreciated and will ensure a more comprehensive transcript. I recommend that you do not record interviews or meetings outdoors or in cafes or any other places with a lot of ambient noise. I also welcome the provision of glossaries and log notes.

How do you keep my information secure?

I understand the importance of maintaining data confidentiality and protecting participants’ identities and I am happy to sign confidentiality or non-disclosure agreements. If you do not already have a confidentiality agreement, I can provide a standard non-disclosure agreement that can be tailored to your needs. Emails are not a secure way to share sensitive data, so I use Dropbox.com with encryption and a two-step verification system. All transcripts are produced on a password-protected computer. I keep copies of recordings and transcripts only until you have reviewed the work and given me the go-ahead to delete the files. What is the cost?

My transcription service is calculated on the length of the audio to be transcribed rather than the time it takes me to transcribe it. This way you know exactly how much a job will cost before it has started. A minimum of 15 minutes of audio must be ordered. If you require less than 15 minutes of audio to be transcribed, you will still be charged for 15 minutes. Please see the rates page for more information.
